Our longstanding partnership with the organization is built around a shared goal: crafting a digital-first annual report experience that captures the past year while setting direction for what’s ahead. Every year, our solutions must reflect the full complexity of the moment—and how PJM rises to meet it.
In 2025, PJM had one of its most complex years on record. Rising demand, increasing prices, reliability concerns, and ongoing political and legal challenges placed new pressure on the system, making clear, forward-focused communication essential.
To rise to the challenge, we developed the overarching report theme Meeting Each Moment, a unifying idea that shaped both the narrative and digital experience. More than a tagline, it became a framework for how the information was structured, shared, and understood.
The visual system was rooted in interconnectivity, reflecting the stakeholders, systems, and decisions that power the grid. A continuous line motif served as both a visual anchor and navigational thread, reinforcing connection throughout the experience. Transitions and interactions were designed to feel responsive and intentional, echoing the dynamic nature of the grid itself.
With in-depth, long-form content at its core, the experience was designed to guide rather than overwhelm. Micro-interactions and purposeful animation created a natural rhythm, revealing information progressively, emphasizing key inflection points, and helping users navigate complexity with clarity.
Data visualizations, pull quotes, and key statistics are surfaced at critical moments, ensuring that the most important insights remain accessible and impactful.
Over years of partnership, each annual report has evolved alongside PJM—reflecting how the organization adapts, communicates, and leads within a system that never stands still. Individually, each report captures a defining moment in an evolving energy landscape. Together, they form a living record of progress and a platform for what comes next.
